What a mobile safari actually is
Not backpacking. A mobile safari is a guided camping trip with a crew: they drive ahead, pitch walk-in tents with real beds and bucket showers, cook, and strike camp while you are out on a game drive. You move every two or three nights. Nights are usually spent in designated campsites inside Moremi or in the wildlife management areas around it.
The structural advantage is range. A fly-in lodge shows you one concession thoroughly. A mobile safari can put you in Moremi's riverine forest, then the floodplains, then the mopane woodland, in one trip — three habitats, three different animal communities.
